When it came to editing our sound I chose to edit on Pro Tools as this is what we have been taught to use in sound design sessions. However when it came to using Pro Tool's I was unaware of how to do a few things in which I had to research the best ways to do it.
Cutting on Pro Tools
When I came to use pro tools I quickly came aware I didn't know how to cut up a clip. I knew how to make a clip shorter, but I didn't know how to get rid of the bits in the middle. I watched a few youtube tutorials to learn how to do this and I found out it was actually a pretty simple process. To successfully cut on Pro Tools, you have to select the A-Z icon in the top right hand corner. Once this is selected you place the cursor where you want to cut on the audio clip. After you have placed this, you use 'B' on the keyboard to make cuts into the clip. You are then able to move the clip as you please and get rid of any unwanted audio. This is demonstrated in the screen grabs below.
Changing Levels on Pro Tools
This is something we have learnt in our sound design sessions with Ron, however when it came to editing our film, it had been a while since I had practiced changing the levels on pro tools. This lead to me trailing through many youtube videos in order to be able to find out a way to successfully adjust the levels on our film.
